My drawings are started in the field from direct observation, some are developed further in the studio from memory. The majority of the pieces presented here are larger works, I keep sketchbooks as well. I return to the views I see daily around Loch Broom time and time again, but I enjoy drawing most places I visit. I work with a range of media, using both dry and wet materials, I enjoy the uncontrollable aspect of working outside and how the feeling of being in the landscape becomes a part of the work.
